WHAT WE DO
Since early 1990, the Champions For Children Foundation has made great strides in building community and corporate support, including public awareness of the need for child abuse prevention. Since our prevention programs have no secure means of funding nor do they qualify for provincial funding, we engage great effort to seek support through companies, foundations and fund raising events.
We are constantly working to make family situations and living arrangements healthier for the children and youth we serve. Often, the children demonstrate a lack of social skills, possess little self-esteem, or are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or (ADHD). On the whole, these children receive little stimulation and very few opportunities for growth and development. For all these reasons, we strive to help with the funding of the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa programs. By giving vulnerable families the skills, confidence and support to raise healthy children, we prevent the likelihood of abuse and neglect in later years.
