The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa is celebrating the grand opening of the first 'Youth Room' for youth in care in Eastern Ontario. Thanks to the generous support of Bank of America and other local businesses as well as the Champions For Children Foundation, the Society was able to fully renovate a large portion of the lower level into a state of the art multi-functional learning and recreation centre for youth in care!

 

Along with the new space comes new programming and with the input of youth in care many programs were developed that will allow for the continued broadening of youth in care initiatives. Programming will include community career workshops, art workshops, life skills development and most importantly fun activities for youth in care to enhance leadership and communication skills.

 

This new youth room will also be the largest of its sort in the Ontario child welfare system.
